Community Remembrance Service Scheduled for World AIDS Day Dec 1st
What: Remembrance Service to honor loved ones who have died of AIDS
When: Monday, December 1st—World AIDS Day, the international day of AIDS awareness

Where: Mayflower Congregational Church

FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Please join the community for this special service to remember family and friends who have died of AIDS in our community. This service will feature a photographic slideshow of these individuals, choral pieces, a time of remembrance, and a keynote speech on this year’s international World AIDS Day theme of Leadership by State Representative Mike Shelton (Dem-District 97).
Participating Agencies: American Red Cross of Central Oklahoma, AIDS Walk of Oklahoma City, Planned Parenthood of Central Oklahoma, Guiding Right Inc., Eagle Ridge Institute, R.A.I.N. Oklahoma, Red Rock North, Oklahoma City Indian Clinic, Other Options Inc., Oklahoma State Department of Health, and Logan County Health Department.
According to the Oklahoma State Department of Health, in 2007 there were 1,733 people in Oklahoma COUNTY living with HIV and AIDS. This is affecting our local community and neighborhoods far more than the general public realizes.
