Other Options Needs Volunteers for Thanksgiving Event

November 20, 2008

Announcement

Other Options, Inc. will be having their 7th Annual Friends Food Pantry Thanksgiving Day event next week to provide meals to those living with HIV/AIDS and are asking for your help.

The non-profit is looking for volunteers for 6 pm Wednesday, November 26th, to assist with cooking and preparing food for delivery. Robert Painter of the New Iguana Mexican Grill is providing his catering kitchen at 2726 West Britton Road (behind Kansas City BBQ) for Other Options to prep and deliver the food from.

On Thanksgiving morning, beginning at 8 am, more volunteers will be needed to assemble the food, organize labels and bags, and deliver the meals. If you're interested in delivery only, be there around 9am and they will have items ready to go. Deliveries are normally finished by noon.

If you would like to give a monetary donation, please make checks to Other Options and write "Thanksgiving Meal" in the memo. Send to: Other Options, 3005 N May Ave, OKC, OK 73107.

Last year with the help of a number of volunteers the organization was able to provide over 150 Thanksgiving dinners to those who might not have had one. This year the group has seen a rise in need and will be providing over 200 of the meals.

Other Options is also preparing for their Christmas Holiday Baskets. They are looking for people who would like to adopt a family or individuals and purchase them a gift. The group will be taking care of their food needs, but due to lack of funds will not be able to give gifts to the clients. With your help or donation they can make everyone's Christmas wishes come true.
