January 14, 2010 Information about Reclaim Oklahoma for Christ’s (ROC) and the John Birch Society’s (JBS) Clouds Over America II conclave in OKC has been kept somewhat secret this time around. Likely, due to last year's infiltration of their assembly by...well, us.  ROC, Paul Blair’s Christian Identity organization in Edmond, OK, has not even publicized this year’s gathering on their website and instead has been trying to contain the information from getting leaked. There were details about the date of the event and some speakers available that became known, but the full minutiae were being kept a bit cloak-and-dagger. Blair failed at that as Gossip Boy has obtained the particulars about this month's concentration of gay  bashers, commie haters, conspiracy nuts, and bulk buyers of aluminum foil.

What better place for such a gathering than a conference center ran by a cult that is reported to have raped and murdered children? How closely attached is that cult to the Birchers and people like Rep. Sally Kern? And just how far has this cult embedded itself into our local government?

Sponsored by ROC and the Oklahoma Chapters of the JBS the conference will meet on January 22nd and 23rd  in Oklahoma City at the Character Training Institute - the Bill Gothard cult spin off. (Their building is at 520 W. Main Street.) That link will take you to a great magazine article about what is going on in our downtown.

That article by award-winning journalist Silja J.A. Talvi*, who has contacted Gossip Boy, states, "Although legally and fiscally independent, the CTI is for all intents and purposes a “secular” front group for Gothard’s IBLP. In the last decade, the CTI has quietly gained entry into hundreds of elementary, middle and high schools, state and city offices, corporations, police departments and jails."

"Though he never uses the term, Gothard’s ideology fits into the framework of the burgeoning “Christian Reconstructionist” movement, which aims to rebuild society according to biblical mandates. Within the Christian Reconstructionist worldview, modern-day chaos is directly attributable to the division of church and state and the consequent degradation of individual character."

Gothard has been accused by Crimes Against Orphans of the rape and murder of Eastern European children. A number of children raised in his cult have developed severe emotional problems, including a young man named Matthew Murray, who went on a shooting rampage in Colorado after posting a final message on a web forum using the moniker nghtmrchld26, "You Christians brought this on yourselves! All I want to do is kill and injure as many of you..as I can, especially Christians who are to blame for most of the problems in the world."

Murray, who was shot and killed by a security guard, had previously written, "Me, I remember the beatings and the fighting and yelling and insane rules and all the Bill Gothard bullshit and then trancing out…shit."

The brother of gunman Matthew Murray is currently attending Oral Roberts University in Tulsa. New Life Church was the former home of evangelist Ted Haggard, who was removed following revelations of his partaking of drugs and male prostitutes.

The John Birch Society meets weekly at CTI/Character First, which also hosted last year's  Clouds Over America conference. Oklahoma State School Superintendent  Sandy Garrett, OKC Mayor Mick Cornett, and OK County Sheriff John Whetsel are among those who have endorsed and funneled taxpayer money into the coffers of the rightwing cult. Both Garrett and Whetsel are Democrats.

I am a firm believer that Police Dynamics and Character First! equip the men and women that work for the Oklahoma Sheriff’s Office to do their job and do it better.

None of the three have responded to Gossip Boy inquiries about how much taxpayer money has been spent on CTI materials over the years. Money that ends up in the hands of a dangerous cult with a documented history of the sexual and physical abuse of children.

Pastor Steve Kern, Rep. Sally Kern's husband, has previously taught Character First to residents of the child sex offender group Hand Up Ministries, who Gossip Boy exposed in December 2008 as having purchased day care centers in Oklahoma City. That child molester bunch continues their ownership of the daycare centers and are rumored to be under the protection of Cornett and Whetsel - the very people who should be concerned about pedophiles having direct access to children. Argle Dick, the Oklahoma County Dentention Center Chaplain, is a former board member for Hand Up and trains county employees in the program. 

Dick is listed as a certified consultant for CTI - meaning he sells their material for them and represents the company.  Thus he was possibly getting a commission from CTI for selling their goods to  the county detention center in which he serves as chaplain. This raises suspicions that city, county, and state employees may be receiving kickbacks or other forms of compensation for getting their agencies to purchase CTI training materials. Another consultant for CTI is Ron Voth, who was previously employed with the Oklahoma Dept. of Commerce.  

            

CTI/Character First was initiated and is fronted as president by Oklahoman Tom Hill, CEO of Kimray, an oil and gas equipment company. It is believed by cult experts that Hill has been the frontman that has passed over 75 million dollars of public money into the hands of Gothard's cult.  Hill is a financial backer of Rep. Mike Reynolds, who we've reported on as having an extremely close relationship, some say intimate relationship, with Sally Kern. In 2004 Hill backed a campaign run by Clark Curry of Edmond, who sits on the National Council of the John Birch Society. He has contributed to the campaigns of Bill Graves, Sally Kern's predecessor, and Dana Murphy, who ran against openly gay Jim Roth for the corporation commission. Over a two year period, he has given the Oklahoma Conservative Political Action Committee $4500. That group, run by Charlie Meadows and Richard Engle, both Birchers, are renown for their attacks on gays. (Note: Contributions are listed under both Tom Hill and Thomas Hill.)

Among governmental entities that have used taxpayer funds to purchase the cult-based materials are: MetroTech, Oklahoma Co. Sheriff’s Dept, Oklahoma Co. Detention Center, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, City of Oklahoma City, City of Owasso, City of Edmond, Mabel Bassett Correctional Center, Moore Norman Technology Center, and the Cleveland Co. Sheriff’s Dept.

 

Despite their associates like Sally Kern claiming that homosexuals are indoctrinating school children, Character First cult materials are being used on students at a number of Oklahoma schools with parents having no clue as to the origins of what they’re children are being exposed to. Those include: Bodine Elementary School OKC, John Adams Elementary School OKC, Gatewood Elementary School OKC, Spencer (OK) Elementary School, Buchanan Elementary School OKC, Rancho Village Elementary School OKC, and Kaiser Elementary School OKC.  

In September sponsors were given an opportunity to get their advertisements

on CTI flyers that were then distributed to 35,000 school children.

 

Those lists are only a fraction of the tax funded groups giving money to CTI. Consultants provide many schools with contacts in the federal government to apply for grants to pay for the materials.

 

Prospective clients and current customers of Character First from around the world were taken

into the Oklahoma County Jail where Sheriff Whetsel and Chaplain Dick pitched the program to them.

In February 2008 Daily Kos reported on the connection between Gothard, the Hobby Lobby's Green Family, and a group called ALERT, which is said to be a violent Christian Reconstructionalist group known as Joel's Army, who are operating what appears to be a paramilitary training camp in Texas. This passage from Religious Tolerance details what Christian Reconstructionalists have planned if they get their way.

The use of the death penalty would be greatly expanded, when the Hebrew Scriptures' laws are reapplied. People will be executed for adultery, blasphemy, heresy, homosexual behavior, idolatry, prostitution, evil sorcery (some translations say Witchcraft), etc. The Bible requires those found guilty of these "crimes" to be either stoned to death or burned alive. Reconstructionists are divided on the execution method to be used.

A church or congregation that does not accept the Mosaic Law has another god before them, and is thus guilty of idolatry. That would be punishable by death. That would include all non-Christian religious organizations. At the present time, non-Christians total two-thirds of the human race, so the slaughter would be enormous.

The status of women would be reduced to almost that of a slave as described in the Hebrew Scriptures. A woman would initially be considered the property of her father; after marriage, she would be considered the property of her husband.

It would be logical to assume that the institution of slavery would be reintroduced, and regulated according to Biblical laws. Fathers could sell their daughters into slavery. Female slaves would retain that status for life. Slave owners would be allowed to physically abuse them, as long as the slaves lived for at least a day before dying of the beating.

Polygyny and the keeping of concubines were permitted in the Old Testament. However, Reconstructionists generally believe in marriage between one man and one woman only. Any other sexual expression would be a capital crime. Those found guilty of engaging in same-sex, pre-marital or extra-marital sex would be executed.

Governments would all have balanced budgets.

Income taxes would be eliminated.

The prison system would be eliminated. A system of just restitution would be established for some crimes. The death penalty would be practiced for many other crimes. There would be little need for warehousing of convicted criminals.

Legal abortions would be banished; those suspected to be responsible for abortions would be charged with murder. If found guilty, they would be executed.

Thus our tax dollars are going to a group that is putting their people into office, who along with other office holders, are funneling money to CTI, which then goes to Gothard's cult - a Christian Reconstructionalist cult that plans to gain enough power to have gays and lesbians executed.

'Clouds' is attracting the big wigs that run the paranoid anti-civil rights group John Birch Society and the assorted mental defects that they draw. Speaking at the function and their designated topics (last year had Sally Kern rambling on about her homosexual agenda conspiracy) are:
