“Our youth deserve to know the truth about homosexuality - that people can choose to

overcome same-sex attractions and that acting on those attractions results in devastating

physical, mental and spiritual consequences.” Mat Staver

On July 11, 2008 Mat Staver brought his national anti-gay agenda to Edmond, OK, when he appeared at Paul Blair’s ‘Reclaiming Oklahoma for Christ Conference & Monster Truck Rally’ on the campus of Oklahoma Christian University. The meet, which focused on gays, was held in the Hardeman Auditorium, an appropriate place indeed.

Well, they did talk about a few other things like Dr. John Morris “shared compelling evidence through lecture and slides on the evidence of a young earth and shared archeological evidence that substantiates the Biblical teaching of dinosaurs.”

Okay now that we’ve all stopped laughing about Moses taking his pet brontosaurus to the dino park, let’s get back to business.

Blair, who is also the pastor of Fairview Baptist Church in Edmond and founder of Reclaim Oklahoma, is very fixated on homosexuals (it could be rebooted cravings from his past visits to the old Levis patio) and keeps running these conferences that revolve around the homosexual agenda. Just last week he got together with the John Birch Society and did the ‘Clouds Over America’ (a/k/a God, Guns & Gays) gig in downtown Oklahoma City where Sally, once again, delivered her “dem queers are worse ‘n tarrists” sales pitch. Paulie just can’t stop talking about gay men and what they do. Maybe if his wife bought a strap on it would calm him down a tad.

Before we get deep into Staver, let’s pause and reflect on how both Blair and Kern, the two biggest gay haters in Oklahoma, are both closely tied to the gay reparative ministry First Stone Ministries (Blair writes for the FSM’s director’s blog and Kern’s church runs an FSM support group) and have pasts where they’ve been accused of inappropriate same-sex advances on young uns. On top of that, let’s sprinkle the fact that they’re both obsessed with the subject of homosexuality and want to stomp it out. The duo both like to rewrite American and personal histories too. Blair has two young sons, who if you meet them (I have as I attended a Fairview church service this month) who could best be described as effeminate and Kern has that suspect son Jesse. Jesse refuses to talk about how as a young boy his genitals were “accidentally burned” with a curling iron by Mommy Dearest, which might explain why he leads a non-sexual life as an adult in a distant state far removed from his mother’s lapses in sanity.

At the July gathering Staver presented his lecture on the threats to America by attempts to redefine traditional marriage. He frets that if gays are allowed to marry then he’d have to marry one. There he hooked up with geriatric groupie Sally Kern and they skipped around campus holding hands and telling everyone, “We’re not gay, really.”

Mat Staver and Sally the Groupie

Staver is fast becoming the national version of Sally Kern. Let’s review a few of the things he’s been doing in recent years.

  • Staver served as the lead attorney for plaintiffs in San Francisco that were trying to overturn the California Supreme Court’s ruling that gay marriage was legal. He failed. This led to Proposition 8, which amended the state constitution to saying marriage was between one man and one woman. That one he won, which led to mass protests by LGBTs around the country. And poor Ellen has never danced the same with Portia since.

A Florida case he busy-bodied into resulted in a judge’s decision that had granted custody of a child to a transsexual being overturned and the poor little kid being yanked from his loving home.

In New York he stopped the first LGBT high school from opening.

Dropping into Georgia he made sure the state wouldn’t recognize civil unions from Connecticut.

In over 40 cases he has represented the stance that marriage is between a man and a woman.

Fifteen different states have been targeted by him in court over forcing Christianity into public schools.

He lectures across the country about the dangers of homosexuality and leads a public campaign against gay marriage or any type of civil union.

How about we listen in on Mat and Mike on Fox News, shall we?
